Important sensory phrases: Greeting a Friend #1

I categorized the process of greeting a friend into the senses. This is to easily identify how I can convey this daily occurrence using non-verbal methods such as images.

Sight:
-3 meters away
-Hairs on end
-Primate Heritage
-Yellow and abstract

Sound:
-Smooth
-Quiet
-"Hey"
-Sloshing liquid

Smell:
-Sea-spray
-Comforting
-Pleasant
-Familiar
-Relaxing
-Protection

Touch:
-Shady
-Soft and bumpy texture
-Grainy
-Prickly
-Warm
-Mildly squishy
-Solid

Taste:
-Salty

The act of greeting a friend was very quick and difficult to take in everything all at once. I made sure I repeated the experience a couple of times to really make sure I had experienced greeting a friend with all my senses. I found it interesting that touch and smell were the most used senses. I think this is because smell is strongly associated with memories and can induce feelings easily because of this. Touch was a commonly used sense because this experience was very tactile as I was mostly touching. It was interesting to see that taste was not used, this seems to be a very little used sense in day to day activities if my auto-ethnographies are used as a sample.
