My final auto-ethnography is on what occurs when you greet a friend as this is a relatively everyday occurrence.
I see my friend, so I wave, i'm about 3 meters away. He waves back and turns to me, it feels cold like we’re shade. It smells a little like the ocean, we're not too far away from there. The hairs on my arms stand up because im cold a reminder of our primate heritage. It may also be because i'm excited. It gives me a slightly soft and bumpy texture. I get to my friend, I say "Hey, hows it?" and he says "Hey". His voice is smooth and quiet. He is wearing a white shirt with a tiger on it. The tiger is yellow and abstract. He is also wearing jeans that are grainy. . I go to give him a hug. He smells comforting and pleasant. It is a very familiar smell and I associate it with protection and relaxation. It reminds me of other really great days. I feel warm and the hug is mildly squishy. Its also a little solid. I stand on tip toe. I can feel the leather of my boots folding in protest. I kiss my friend on the cheek. It is prickly and tastes a little salty. I hear a wet noise as i make the pursing of the lips motion, like the sound of sloshing liquid. I feel my clothes push against my skin. They are silky and soft as my friend squeezes me back. I get off tip toe and stand back.
