Place Holder Animations

In the time I was creating the background Jenny had started to design and make the characters. Using her rough sketches, I started to animate the animals to get a feel of what they would do when they had been fully created. I started with the Gorilla. We had talked about how the animals needed to have some form of trap or chain on them, showing that they couldn't just run away. To compensate for the lack of a trap part I just used a blue ball in my place holder animations.

The Gorillas head moves from side to side and its body moves up and down in a restless fashion to portray that it is trapped and cannot move. When Jamie frees the Gorilla it smiles, and the blue ball/trap becomes smaller simulating how the chain would either unravel and fall off or the trap if it was a bear trap would just open. After this the Gorillas arms would move up and down showing that it can now move and it is now free.

I also made one for the Tiger, but not the Panda. This was because the way that the Tiger and Panda would move would be similar. For the tiger I had its one foor that was free moving from side to side, its tail moving up and down but in dejected and sad manner. I also had its ear get smaller which looked like drooping. When Jamie would free the Tiger the blue ball would slowly start to shrink while the Tigers tail wags with more urgent happiness and its head not moves side to side also.
