Stencyl Problems and disapointment

I had a lot of trouble with stencyl which I wasn't expecting as my idea was incredibly simple. After manually importing all the frames for all my states of animation, I imported my final background/foreground and created the scene.

After doing that I added my actor to the scene and ran a test. However my actor never appeared. It took a long time to figure out, after reading many forums and stencyl pages that a large animation, or one with more than 40 frames meant that the application would not read and thus the actor would not appear.

After it did appear I began to code the events of it, however I found that I was constantly returning errors or would not work. I then switched to giving it pre-loaded behaviors which I customized. When I got Trevor to walk towards the pool and not float or disappear i added a jump control. But this did something I don't understand to the gravity and Trevor would fall off the scene. Or if he did stay on when the user pressed the jump control he would disappear.

These problems were incredibly time consuming to figure out and left my final product at a lesser and lower standard than I would like. I was very disappointed and have resolved to work harder on it next time.
